Took the train to Canterbury and our hotel as it was going to be a hot day so did not want to camp

What a charming city centre. Lots of old buildings and small streets
Alas we arrived too late to enter the cathedral…
Walked on and stumbled upon a wine shop selling local wines. Not knowing much about them we walked in
What a revelation!!! Met Mark who enthusiastically talked about wines and wineries and we tasted 9 wines. All really good!!!

Then walked to a small ale house (oldest part 800 years old…). Very good (warm) ale and bitter!!!!
